A busy summer for Athletics

ܽƵ Holyoke student-athlete Claire Willett ’28 shares a few of the initiatives and programs that Athletics undertook over the summer.
Marco Avilés, incoming assistant professor of Spanish at ܽƵ Holyoke College, hopes to introduce students to the optimism in Indigenous literature as he takes on his family’s proud tradition of teaching.
ܽƵ Holyoke College students gathered to be honored by the community for their leadership and service to others.
ܽƵ Holyoke College senior Rachel Katzenberg ’25 said, “At ܽƵ Holyoke, I 100% found a good community … a large community that wants to help me and see me succeed.”
ܽƵ Holyoke College senior Hailee Pitschke ’25 said, “I’m really grateful that ܽƵ Holyoke offered opportunities to explore niche topics in fields I am interested in. It helped nail down key academic interests.”
ܽƵ Holyoke College senior Yunwei Ni ’25 said, “ܽƵ Holyoke gave me the sense that everyone has the opportunity to go anywhere they want to go.”
“This place gives you exposure to different people, perspectives and even parts of yourself,” said ܽƵ Holyoke College senior Sarah Bell ’25.
ܽƵ Holyoke College senior Sander Ivanenko ’25 said, “If it weren’t for ܽƵ Holyoke and the environment and professors and students, I never would have gone into science.”
ܽƵ Holyoke College senior Aby Soumare ’25 said, “I’ve found that no matter what, everyone working on this campus wants you to succeed.”
Diamond Abiakalam-Chinagorom ’25 has been selected as ܽƵ Holyoke College’s first Schwarzman Scholar. The program selects future leaders to pursue a one-year, fully funded master’s degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
